DUI Cases in the Chester County Court System

After a DUI arrest, your case is scheduled for a Preliminary Hearing in the District Court where you were arrested. That hearing is usually within 30 to 60 days from the date of your arrest.

For court locations, see the District Courts page of this web site.

At that hearing, you can seek to have charges dismissed against you or have the charges reduced.

You can also waive the Preliminary Hearing, although you may be giving up very important rights by doing that. Please call the DUI attorneys at Zachary B. Cooper, Attorney at Law, P.C. to discuss your options.

After the Preliminary Hearing, your case proceeds to the county level to the Court of Common Pleas.

The Court of Common Pleas of Chester County is a general jurisdiction trial court located in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The Court oversees and provides administrative services to the nineteen magisterial district court offices in Chester County.

The Court of Common Pleas, among other things, preside over DUI prosecutions, and supervises Adult Probation, Juvenile Probation, and the Bail Agency.

The Court is located at 201 W. Market Street, West Chester, PA 19380-0989.
